Andrew is an American Staffordshire Terrier, or Am Staff.

The National Canine Research Council is an organization comprised of canine experts created to present accurate statistics and to provide detailed information on the human and canine behaviors which have contributed to cases of severe and fatal dog attacks.

The goal of NCRC is move beyond the current media/political hysteria associated with dog attacks and investigate and analyze the circumstances, behaviors, and environment which resulted in an incident of severe/fatal canine aggression.

Visit www.NationalCanineResearchCouncil.com for accurate information, reliable statistics, and rational summarizations regarding dog bites.

Buster is an American Bulldog who was found missing one foot.

PAR understands there are many misconceptions about pit bulls, and the director of PAR, Michelle Dunlap, once believed the hype until she met and adopted her first pit bull, Chance. She thought he was a boxer mix until research led her to figure out his true breeding. Chance was "too nice" to be a pit bull! Through research, Michelle found out that pit bulls are fabulous and very misunderstood. She now dedicates much of her time to helping people understand pit bulls. The media plays a large role in this misunderstanding, as it mainly shows the sensationalized pit bull stories. These reports often leave out the vital information that the dog had been chained for years, neglected by people, suffered from intense boredom at the end of a chain or alone in a backyard, and developed overexcitablity as a result. When a powerful dog of any breed knocks down a child in excitablity, the results can be devastating, especially if the dog has very limited exposure to people. Check out www.pitbullproblem.tk for a fresh, albeit graphic, portrayal of pit bulls. Learn about pit bulls for yourself. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact PAR at adoptions@phoenixanimalrescue.org. We'll share with you what years of research has taught us about pit bulls and bull breeds!
