Phoenix Animal Rescue

A volunteer-run non-profit rescue in Gainesville, FL.

Our Mission

The mission of Phoenix Animal Rescue is to rescue, provide sanctuary, and ultimately rehome abandoned, stray, and neglected animals from the Alachua County, Florida area.

We are a volunteer run, non-profit, no-kill, animal rescue group that is located near Gainesville, Florida.  Instead of having a store-front or rescue facility, all of our animals are housed in foster homes where they are provided with an enormous amount of love and any medical attention that may be required to ensure that they are in good health prior to going to their forever home.  Our organization's relatively small size facilitates a better understanding and relationship with each and every animal that comes into our care.

Many of our dogs are pit bulls or pit bull mixes who are waiting for people to learn they are very nice dogs.  No matter the issue, once a dog enters Phoenix Animal Rescue's program, we are committed to the life of that dog.  Each and every dog in our program is special and loved.  They are not a statistic.  They each have something wonderful about them and the volunteers at Phoenix Animal Rescue help each dog find the forever home that sees these same wonderful qualities.

When a dog comes in scared, starved, alone, and tired, Phoenix Animal Rescue welcomes him in, takes care of him, and makes him feel loved, wanted, and special.  This individual attention to each and every dog means our dogs stay in our program longer than most.  We aren't interested in gaining adoption numbers for the sake of statistics.  Our funding isn't based on quantity of adoptions.  We focus on quality adoptions and our donors support this focus.  We find the best home for each dog based on each dog's individual needs.  This means our dogs go to obedience classes, live in individual homes to learn how to be a housepet, and get every resource available to treat any and all issues.  Generous donations from the public fund every aspect of Phoenix Animal Rescue.
