We Love Kids!
The dogs listed on this page have met children, or show a propensity toward being good with children. Phoenix Animal Rescue is not guaranteeing that these dogs will all be perfect around all children. Dogs do not think of infants in the same way they think of toddlers. And toddlers are different from elementary aged children. All dogs need to be supervised with all children, no matter what. Training, experience, and maturity of both dog and child greatly influence a dog's behavior around children. Dogs are not to teach children responsibility. However, dogs are great to help children appreciate animals, learn respect for living beings, and even help them gain self-confidence. No dog should ever be left in the care of a child exclusively. Feeding the dog should not be a chore, but an opportunity to spend time with your dog. Some of the dogs listed below attend events in which children are present, some interact with children, some have lived with children. All show interest in children but are not rough with them or chase them. However, all dogs listed below have been known to give sloppy doggy kisses!
Gator is a one year old bulldog-hound mix who has lived with a newborn baby. He knows Sit and will come running every time you call him. He loves to play with his toys and is completely house trained.
Lily is a gorgeous American Staffordshire terrier who has graduated from dog obedience class TWICE! She is incredibly well-trained and knows many commands and tricks. Lily absolutely ADORES children and lets them climb all over her. She walks very nicely on a leash, does everything she's told to do, and is a very sweet girl to dogs and people.

Becky is a lab mix who loves children
Becky is a sweet lab mix who loves to be with children. She likes to play dress-up and will wear tiaras, doggles, and clothing. She even sits still to have her nails painted! Becky is very well-behaved and is perfectly house trained. She is a very pretty white color, which makes her the perfect dog for accessorizing!
